Nikon Unveils The S52, S52c And P80 In The American Market

Nikon has introduced one DSLR camera and two digital cameras in the CoolPix series. Designed for fashionable photo-enthusiasts, the DSLR camera is called as CoolPix P80, the other two cameras are called CoolPix S52c and CoolPix S52.

The S52c and S52 are both 9 mega pixels cameras with a bright TFT 3.0-inches LCD monitor. They have a high sensitivity up to ISO 3200 aimed at providing flexibility when shooting fast moving subjects and in low light conditions. The cameras have a built-in "right-angle" optical lens shift VR (Vibration Reduction) 3x Zoom-NIKKOR lens; the digital zoom offered is 4x.

Furthermore, both the cameras are equipped with the Macro shooting option to take images from as close as 4cm, claims Nikon. The S52 and S52c both have approximately 38MB of internal memory, SDHC card compatibility, USB 2.0 connectivity, and PictBridge compatibility. Both cameras bundle a rechargeable Li-ion battery, while the S52c comes with an AC adapter as well. The Nikon Coolpix S52 and S52c with their metallic finish and wave-surface design essentially form the company's latest fashion brigade.

The only difference between S52 and S52c is that, the S52c can send images through e-mail using a built-in Wi-Fi connection and supports Nikon's "My Picturetown" online service and Flickr. The S52 uses USB 2.0 to connect to a host Mac or PC, instead.

On the other hand, CoolPix P80, claimed to be the world’s most compact ultra-zoom camera, is a 10.1 mega pixel camera with an 18x optical zoom, that offers a 27-486nm focal length, and weighs around 365g. Other features include an all-new Sports Continuous Mode, which lets you shoot up to 30 consecutive pictures at four, six or 13 frames per second (depending on resolution).

The P80 integrates a 2.7 inches TFT LCD monitor with anti-reflection coating, an image sensor shift VR, a 50 MB of storage capacity and SD memory card compliant, as well as a light sensitivity of up to ISO 6400. The camera bundles a rechargeable Li-ion battery, battery charger, USB Cable, Audio Video cable, strap, lens cap, and software suite CD-ROM.

The Nikon Coolpix S52, available in a purplish black with gloss silver color options, is priced at USD 250 and the S52c, available with seven color choices, at USD 280; the P80 would cost consumers USD 399.95. The 'S' series cameras are expected to hit American stores this May, whereas the P80 would be available sometime this month.
