Dell Unveils Low-cost PC in China
Dell has wheeled out a low-cost PC for China. The cost of the PC ranges from 2,599 yuan to 3,999 Yuan (approximately USD 335 to USD 520), the company said in a statement.
China is an emerging market with escalating growth in the PC market. China is the world’s second largest market for PCs today after the US. With heavy competition, prices have come down enabling the common Chinese to buy computers. Besides rising educational standards and income have helped Chinese to buy computers. Dell comes third behind homegrown companies like Lenovo and Founder Technology.
Dell seems to be going through a rough patch with a drop in quarterly profit. This move could be to use a new strategy to attain financial profit.
Dell recently announced that its assembly unit in Chennai, India will go live by July this year and has projected USD1 billion revenues from India.
